Kookum Jo approached me one day we were making masks for the larger community near the beginning of Covid. She had an idea to capture her life’s story and wanted to access funding to do it. she asked that I capture the story for her, I was very honored by her request. Together we were able to access an Edmonton Heritage Council grant. This grant allowed her to capture the story, build her own website, and hire an editor. Additionally we were able to create this short video that features her life and her community work. In the next phase of this work, Kookum Jo will be turning her life’s story into a screenplay.
